Santa @ Herald Square Macy's, any btdt advice?
Thinking of taking the kids. What day of week and time do you suggest? How long can we expect to wait? Is it worth it?

Santa @ Herald Square Macy's, any btdt advice?
I was looking for the info online for this year and found nothing. Every other city comes up except NYC. Did you see something online? We went years ago and it was great. LONG line though, it wrapped through the back offices.

Get the Macy's app and you can make a reservation. I took my nephew last year, on Christmas Eve, and with a res, we waited about 15 - 20 minutes, tops. Downside is that you don't go through "Santaland" but to get out in 20 minutes, I didn't mind. I think I many have made the reservation a week or so before, I don't remember exactly.

I don't really see the point if you don't go through Santa land.

Re: Santa @ Herald Square Macy's, any btdt advice?
Last year we wanted to take DS & niece to see the Christmas tree. We decided to get up early and head into the city around 530.
We were at the tree by 6 and the sun was still not out yet. The tree was lit and there were a handful of people doing the same thing as us. The rink was open if you wanted to ice skate - there were 3 couples on the ice.
The window displays had no crowds and we were able to take our time looking at each.
We headed over to Herald square for 8:00 am (this was 12/21 so he starts early closer towards Christmas) we were in and out in 40 minutes. Walked through Santa Land - which the kids LOVED and literally walked right into a room to see Santa Claus.
We grabbed breakfast before getting back in our cars and were back home by 10:00 am.
It really was perfect! We are planning on doing it again this year.

Just get their early! I did it once, right after hurrricane sandy figured the kids needed a nice fun distraction. It was okay but I don't think I would do it again, I have friends that go every year and love it

That is a GREAT idea! Never thought of going super early. We always go at night and it's so hectic and crazy, the kids don't enjoy it as much and either do we. But it's tradition so we just do it. Thanks for the idea, just might have to try this!
