Satellite Radio users

What station do you leave your car radio set on if you have a seperate XM or SIrius Radio?

I am having trouble finding a station where the XM is always clear....

Thanks,
Scott

DH flips between, 88.7 and 88.9, it depends on where he is.

Re: Satellite Radio users

Part of the problem with satellite radio on LI is that we only get the signal from the satellites, there are no repeaters on the ground here. We have so many layers of local goverment they have to go through (county, town and in come cases city as well) that they can't justify the expense to their shareholders. DH's firm has been a large investor in one of the 2 satellite companies from the beginning, so he asked the CFO a while back for me since I was annoyed that I lose my signal in the same spots around our neighborhood.

Maybe if we all start to complain and threaten to cancel they'll look into putting some in? Chat Icon

I have a GM car and have the service right through my car, and I get spotty service, if any, near me.... It's so frustrating! I thought it was because of all the trees.

The trees are definately part of it. They block the signal from the satellies. In other parts of the country they have these repeaters on the ground, so the signal gets sent from the satelllite to the repeater, and then out to the individual units. Since it's closer to the unit it's a stronger signal.

you might need a new antenna - that's what happened to us with sirius.

They're not very durable - if you go to best Buy or a store like that - a new one will cost you like $30
