Saw these statistics today and just putting it out there
I know many people are on the fence with the vaccine, and it is understandable. I just wanted to share this info from the CDC. In the month of December, 1.8 million people received the covid vaccine. 21 had severe reactions and there were 0 deaths. In the month of December, 6.4 million people tested positive for Covid, 77,000 of them died. In one month. Hospitals in many states are collapsing and leaving people to die in ambulances. This is not to pressure you to get the vaccine. This is to remind people that the "Covid has a 99% survival rate" is getting old and is not a legitimate argument. Get the vaccine. Don't get the vaccine. But do your research from reputable and scientific sources before making that decision. Make sure you understand the ramifications of the virus. Good luck everyone.

I don't want to start a debate on this but this isn't really accurate info you are posting re: the vaccine. First of all, it will never be proven that the vaccine causes deaths even if it does. That is because it isn't the vaccine itself causing the death but the bodies reaction to the vaccine that causes the issues. There have been stories of deaths even just recently a very pro-vaccine doctor who took the vaccine died from a reaction. Also, 21 people out of the over million are the only ones who had reactions? How can that be? I know at least 10 people myself that had reactions
Also, if the vaccine is so safe they why do the companies need to be completely exempt from liability? Is there any other medical product where this is the case
Everyone is different. No food, drug, or vaccine is safe for everyone. Everyone's bodies are different. No one should give someone medical advice on this site.

I was clearly not giving anyone medical advice. I encouraged everyone to do their research from reputable sources before making a decision. You know 10 people who had anaphalyctic reactions to the vaccine? I find that very hard to believe. I did not mean side effects, they said 21 people had serious reactions that required hospitalization. I am sorry if you don't think the actual data is not accurate.

I'm thinking the op means a severe reaction and you mean people you know had side effects. 21 people have had anaphylactic reactions and 17 of those people had a history of anaphylaxis already. I haven't seen any reports of someone dying from the vaccine so feel free to check or share your source there. https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/06/health/covid-vaccines-cdc-allergic-safety-wellness/index.html

I misinterpreted too since what was posted said side effects, not anaphylactic reactions. Everyone I know has had some sort of side effect (Mostly just arm pain but some with flu like symptoms). The side effects are still better than the potential of getting Covid but, there most have some sort of side effect.
ETA - I will be getting the vaccine, I believe it's the best chance to resume normal life. DH got his yesterday and feels like crap. DS 1 wanted to go with him to get one too because he's ready to resume his normal life again.

I think she meant in California, EMT will not transport you to the hospital if your Covid survival rate is low. EMT are making the decision if you should go to the hospital. It’s been all over the news but Trumps tantrum and domestic terrorism on this country has overshadowed that story.

When I googled it I couldn't find that anyone died, just that it is the order. California is crazy, they have had so many restrictions for so long, you'd think they would be better prepared. So sad.

Yes, they aren’t dying in Ambulances unless she is referring to something else.
Very poor planning from California. We can keep blaming Federal government which is accurate because we basically don’t have one right now. But the states are dropping the ball as well. They don’t have enough beds per capita is the issue. That is why Fl isn’t as bad as Cali in terms of hospitals even though they are business as usual.
Eta: I know Cuomo decided to keep the make shift hospitals that we didn’t use in March just in case.

Ahh ok, i think we assumed US since you said states. But sadly in the state of our country, it wouldn’t even be inconceivable that it was actually happening.

Re: Saw these statistics today and just putting it out there
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-55549037
Ambulance workers in Los Angeles County, California, have been told not to transport hospital patients that have extremely low chances of survival.
The directive comes as officials say the region could soon hit over 1,000 Covid-related deaths per day, and hospitals are overrun with patients.
Emergency workers have also been told to ration oxygen, which is in short supply due to the pandemic.
Hospital beds in LA are running low and officials fear a post-holiday spike.
New York City issued a similar directive to ambulance workers in April 2020 at the height of the city's Covid outbreak, instructing them not to bring in patients who were unable to be resuscitated at the scene. ...
No mention of deaths, just the transport order.

Hospitals in CA are so overrun that they are on the brink of having to "ration care" - decide who to treat and who not to, based on the chances of survival. It's almost to the point where Drs really have to play God. That is a heavy load to place on someone's shoulders.

Good question! They’re way more strict than NY. U’d also think they’d be better prepared considering they had it really bad the first time.

My guess, and it really is just a guess, is more in home get togethers with no distancing and no masks. With everything shut down, that what people do.

I wonder if part of it is that they're surrounded by states that are not locked down so people just travel there. That and I'm sure there are still plenty of social gatherings in people's homes which is where it tends to spread.
