Saying NO to a 7 month old
Maybe its just me but whenever I say NO to DD she thinks its hysterical. I say it in a stern voice & also do the sign for no & she laughs....
Lately everytime she's on the changing table she scratches her fingers on the paint on the wall making a nails on the blackboard sound & its also not great to be scratching on the paint.
She laughs & will do it again...
Does this happen to anyone else?

Keep trying. Grace finally at 12 months understands no. She even runs away when I catch her doing something wrong and still laughs but she does stop the behavior right away.

Re: Saying NO to a 7 month old
ME! Troy is one week shy of 9 months and whenever I say "No" he looks at me and giggles or smiles! Meanwhile, my brother (who Troy sees about 1-2x per week) says "No" and Troy stops what he's doing, pouts and then cries!
Troy even listens to DH! We thought it was /bc i have a higher pitched voice, so i tried saying no in a deeper voice. Nope....didnt work. I even try distracting him w/ something else, that works for 2 minutes!

Re: Saying NO to a 7 month old
It's hysterical to me b/c of the face they give you and How they look at you after you say it. I want to bust out laughing sometimes but of course don't.
she'll get used to the word No and eventually she'll understnad it completely.

Re: Saying NO to a 7 month old
Lucas laughs when I say no...or he gives me a playful smile like I just said 'hello!' instead of 'no'

Re: Saying NO to a 7 month old
Cindy DS does the same thing. He usually smiles at me or gives me a kiss when I tell him NO. He gives me a kiss b/c he thinks I will let him continue doing what he shouldnt be doing. So the NO thing really doesnt work for me b/c i am a pansy at times. But when DH tells him NO sometimes he will stop what he is doing look and then stare at DH. But DS is very very defiant (gets it from his Dad) and I think the word NO doesnt really scare him much.

Re: Saying NO to a 7 month old
YEP...us too!
But now I put my Mrs Potato Head angry eyes on when I say NO.
He looked at me the other day as if "What did I do Mommy?" "Why do your eyes look "funny"?" But he stopped though.
