Scarring?
What type of doctor do you see if you have leftover scaring from an infection? I was going to see a dermatologist and not sure if that's the right doctor to see

Re: Scarring?
How long ago was the original wound that caused the scar? I have had five skin cancer surgeries on my face with extensive scarring on my face. One scar in particular was really bad (skin flap was required). I went to NYU's dermatologic associates because they have some of the most expensive and diverse lasers. I had laser treatments to 1. flatten the scar and 2. take out the redness.
Now, you can barely see any scarring, even without makeup! The original surgery for the really big scar I'm talking about was three years ago.
I just had my fifth surgery on another skin cancer one month ago, and the plastic surgeon did such an amazing job (dr. charles thorne in Manhatten) that you can't see it at all!!!!
Please let me know if you need any phone numbers or referrals.
PS: It can take a year for a scar to heal.
