Scary thing that happened today....
So it was 85 degrees today.. I live in Kansas. Unusually warm, but hey, who am I to complain! So I decide to take DD to the park. We live in a complex and the park is literally 200ft from my front door. So off we go....
So after being on the swing for about 20 minutes, DD started to look less than impressed, it was time to go. Just as i'm starting to gather her things, I hear barking. I turn around and this dog is loose and barking at other dogs that were behind a fence in their own yards.
Then the dog started running around the playground so I pick Gianna up out of the swing and start walking toward the house and I hear a lady yell ' get in the house!' to her little girl who was playing on the sidewalk. I turn around and this dog is running right toward us.
I didnt even have time to move and he was jumping all over me. Gianna was freaking out. The dog bit my ankle and wouldnt let go. These 2 soldiers were outside and heard me screaming. They came running over, one guy took Gianna from me and the other guy was kicking the dog.
It finally let go and some lady came out of her house yelling ' Buddy??!! Where are you?' The one guy tells her that she better get her dog and get the hell out of here before the MP's get there, and she says ' whatever, screw you'. I almost killed her. We got into a huge screaming match about how her dog could have seriously hurt my 5 month old or the little toddler girl who was playing on the sidewalk and the owner looked like she couldnt have cared less.
Military Police showed up shortly after and the owner was given citations for not having her dog on a leash and not having her yard fenced in. Both of which are serious policies on post. Sadly, Buddy is no longer around. The MP's have a strict 'one time is one time too many' policy and if your dog attacks or bites someone, unprovoked, they are taken away and put down.
I did go to the DR and he said my leg/ankle would be fine, but that I might have bruised my shin bone.. great. Just as i'm about to walk out, the Dr turns to me and says "You might want to consider carrying a stick next time, or practice running with your infant"  Umm... thanks Dr. Dummy!

OMG that is so scary!! Thank goodness everyone is OK. I have to say I am always scared of something like that happening when I am out on a walk with DD.

OMG thank GOD you and DD are OK!!!!! THat must've been absolutely terrifying, thank goodness those guys were there to help you. THat woman is grade-A moron and it's just so sad a dog had to be put down because of her ignorance

I'm glad that they put that dog down though.... And yes, I am a dog lover and owner.
That woman who screamed to run should have never done that though.... That is the one thing that you NEVER do.... they SMELL fear.
