Scheduled C-Section - Huntington
I will be having a scheduled c-section for baby #2 at Huntington. (unless of course baby gets impatient!) What is the time frame until you get in a room, hold the baby, etc.
with DD#1, i was an emergency C, it was late at night and DD was in the NICU, so i didnt see her until she was about 12 hours old!

Re: Scheduled C-Section - Huntington
I just had a section there in oct. I saw the baby as soon as he came out. I got to hold him in the recovery room for about an hour. Then they took him for the exam and stuff. I was in recovery for another half hour or so after he left and then went to my room. They brought him in shortly after. It definitely should not be 12 hours if there are no complications. Good luck!

Re: Scheduled C-Section - Huntington
I've had 2 c-sections at Huntington. Great experiences there. The nurses are great.
I held both babies right away after delivery. Then they take the baby to the nursery to clean them up and do some testing. I still had to be stitched up, which took longer than the actual delivery. My husband went with the baby to the nursery. Both times, the babies never left his sight.
After I was closed up, I was wheeled to recovery, and very shortly after, they brought the baby to me so I could nurse.
Baby #1 was scheduled C-section, morning delivery.
Baby #2 was also a scheduled c-section, but she wanted out and arrived 10 days before he due date, and 6 days before her scheduled c-section date. She was born in the evening. It was not an emergency c-section, just an unscheduled one.
Good, sweet memories....
