Scheduled c-section question(s)
I am definitely having one and I know you don't find out the date until one month before but will they schedule me earlier than 40 weeks or make me wait? I don't think this child is going to be small so I don't think that will be a problem (my family has big babies and I was over 9 lb.).

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
They usually schedule it before 40 wks if it's scheduled.
My SIL's dr scheduled hers when she was 10 wks PG. This will be her 2nd.

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
You could wait until you go into labor if you want to have a C/S. Both my boys were scheduled for the day before my due date.

I believe I was told that it would be 10 days before my due date, give or take a day or so.

I'm having a scheduled c-section and my doctor was able to do it 3 mos in advance. I'm delivering at St. Charles and will be 39 wks.

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
Both mine were scheduled (first was breech, second we weren't sure if VBAC was possible [it was]). Anyway, my doc would not let me go before 38 weeks, he suggested 39 or even on my due date if nothing happened on its own before.

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
I think it's typical to schedule for a week early. I am scheduled for my due date next month. It's a repeat c/s and the reason why it's not any earlier is because I want to try for a VBAC.

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
Thanks ladies. I'm wondering why they only give me a one month notice, I have to ask further. I'm not the happiest with my doc's office lately, they are pretty vague. I hope they do at least 10 days because I'm worried about going into labor on my own with herniations and a lower fusion. It wouldn't be pretty. Thanks again!

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
I am supposed to have mine a week before my due date. MY doc only does scheduled c-sections on Saturdays, so it just works out that way.

The one thing I don't like about that office is the staff up front as they are very vague esp when they are very busy. I have a feeling they have to hold off on scheduling the c-section to the month before b/c when I tried to schedule my Level II back in January I had to wait b/c they change the rotation or something like that so they didn't know what days they would be in - something about NSUH holding them up - I have no idea if that is really the case but that is what they told me. I assume you are trying to schedule it with a specific doctor?
I find that the office can be helpful if I go with a list of specific questions then they do answer them.

Re: Scheduled c-section question(s)
I am 18 weeks and we will be scheduling my section during my next appointment. My doctor will do it no earlier than 2 weeks before my EDD. My EDD is 9-8, this one will probably come Aug. 24ish.
