Scheduled First RE Appointment

So, I officially scheduled our first appointment with a RE, but there are no new patient appointments until August 23 and of course we are on vacation that week, so now I have to wait until September 2. Does this seem normal....a 3 week wait for a new patient?

The main reason it took me so long to schedule this is because we were waiting for new insurance/waiting for a referral and now I find out referrals can be backdated 30 days. I am just so frustrated - I was hoping to get all the testing and what not done before the summer was over, but it looks like that is not happening. I just want to get started already. We have been TTC for 11 cycles...I know it is not as long as some here, but it is still frustrating. Everyone else I know IRL got pregnant after 1 or 2 cycles.

Tomorrow I have a regular obgyn appointment so we will see what they say...

The only thing I could recomend is try calling back in a week or so to see if they have any cancellations.

All three of my REs that I went to had a long wait (like 2-3 weeks) for the first appointment- I think that's relatively common.

It took me a few weeks to get in for a new appointment also. Good luck!!!!

My first appointment was scheduled for about 2.5 weeks after I first called. Good luck!!!

Normal...is relative when talking about infertility!! GL..Who are you seeing?

I figured it was "normal", but I am just bummed that we have to wait a month. I am more mad at insurance for not telling me referrals could be back dated two weeks ago when I originally called them.
