Schools on lockdown/lockout earlier today (Bay Shore)
I have only heard that a homicide suspect was last seen disembarking at the Bay Shore RR station and surrounding schools (not sure up until what point were on lockdown. I believe it is over but the suspect is still out there. Any other info?

Great. I think he must have been caught. I got the call that the schools were on lock down. I drove past MGC, the middle school, and fifth, and all seemed okay.
They just told us it was a police investigation, they left out the part about the homicide suspect.

Re: Schools on lockdown/lockout earlier today (Bay Shore)
This is from Newsday:
Service on the Long Island Rail Road's Montauk branch was temporarily suspended Thursday in both directions between Babylon and Patchogue as New York City police looked for a shooting suspect, according to the NYPD.
The NYPD's Warrant Squad, with help from Suffolk County police, were hunting for a suspect in a November 2011 nonfatal shooting in the Bronx near Bruckner Boulevard and Bryant Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said. The search included some LIRR property in Bay Shore, near First Avenue, south of the tracks and east of the rail station, the NYPD said.
A spokesman for the commuter service said Suffolk County police had requested the temporary suspension of service, which lasted about 25 minutes. The email alert was sent at 11:58 a.m. and at least two eastbound trains were delayed, the service said. It's unclear whether the situation was related to a lockout at Bay Shore schools.
The district was on lockout due to "suspicious activity" in the area, reported to the district by police, said Gardiner Manor School principal Carlton Brown. Brown did not provide details. Parents were being notified that all classes and in-school activities were taking place as usual.
At Gardiner Manor, students and faculty were not disturbed by the lockout. Classes remained in session and a special Black History Month presentation in the school gymnasium was still going on.
