Sciatic pain question
My dh has been in PAIN for the past 3 days because of his sciatic nerve down his right leg. I tried rubbing his leg/butt area and icing the area as well as heating it. He has pains so bad that he can hardly walk...he had to sleep with his legs elevated on the couch last night to stop the pain. He is also taking mortrin.
He has gone to the chiropractor before and the were unable to help him.
Any other ideas to stop this pain?

Re: Sciatic pain question
I believe they can do cortizone shots in the area but that's not 100% guaranteed.

Re: Sciatic pain question
I don't want to scare you but has he had an MRI?? It may indicated a herniated disk or compression. My chiropractor is having amazing results with this new machine that creates disk space between them if there are herniations/compression. I wasn't a candidate because I had my spine fused together at L4/5 but people are raving about it. FM me if you want details. I hope DH feels better. OH-also, if you are near a Whole Foods, they have this topical cream called Topricin, doesn't have an odor or tingle, but it really helps sciatic pain, I couldn't believe it!

Re: Sciatic pain question
I would suggest a chiropractor. I know he's not preggo, but I know it helped several friends when they went to our friend.

Re: Sciatic pain question
He doesn't have this pain often. The last time he had it was like 2-3 years ago.
Whole foods?? I'm going to have to look for that cream for him...

Re: Sciatic pain question
You're moving right? He could have brought it on from lifting heavy things or squatting alot, etc. I hope he feels better! That cream is great-it's also recommended for carpal tunnel.

Re: Sciatic pain question
I'm having the same issue and the pain is very bad. I had an MRI and I have 2 herniated discs in my low back and they think that is causing the nerve pain. I'm going to a spine specialist on Wednesday. Could he have done something to injure his back?

He goes to the gym all the time, so he could have injured something there...
