Seaford Ped Moms...Come on in!
My dd is 6 months old and a patient of Seaford Peds.....we primarily see Dr. Wren.
We were told that she should eat the following meals:
Breakfast: Oatmeal and an entire Stage 2 fruit Lunch: Half Fruit/Half Veg Stage 2 Dinner: Oatmeal and an entire Stage 2 Veg
We were told NOT to give her any Stage 2 chicken with rice etc type meals yet. We were also told no puffs, pastina etc.
My dd has a SEVERE milk allergy, so we cannot give her yogurt.
I have another friend who also uses Seaford Ped and they told her to go straight to the Stage 2 meats etc at 6 months.
Just confused as to what to do. Any help??? :) Amanda

I think each MD there gives their own advice - depends who you see. Personally, if your DC has tested the other ingredients in the meat combo (ie chicken and sweet potatoes) then I don't see why wren would tell you to avoid it. Maybe call and see if there is a specific reason??

Re: Seaford Ped Moms...Come on in!
Hi other Seaford Ped. Moms!! My DD is 2 and we've been using them since she was born and now DS will be born on Wed. so we are back to SP with newborn visits and shots. I definitly agree each dr there is different and most pretty lax. Im a pretty laid back mom myself so its all goos. No restrictions w/ foods for dd except they said starting out do a week of oatmeal then a week of rice, that was about it, no allergies either so maybe its different. I would ask though why the wait on meats? Good luck n Enjoy your LO's

Another Seaford Ped mom here! I guess it all depends on the child/MD. When we saw Dr Wren at DS 6 month checkup, she told us pretty much the same as you but to start yogurt. She said that it was not necessary to introduce the meat stage 2 until 9 months. I didn't start DS until around 8 months but he was getting pretty much table food at that point. I was never told no about puffs or pastina

It really does depend on who you see. When DD was little, we primarily saw Dr Meckes. He told us to do NO jarred meats- but instead to wait until DD had teeth and could eat regular chicken. He said that jarred meats grossed him out- so to hold off- and we did just that. Of course though, my DD was a late teether- so it was like forever until she ate meat.

See, Colin is 10 months - no teeth, has been eating table meat since 7 months - pork chops, steak, ground beef, chicken - no problems and when I was told he had a good diet. I saw Yaker at his 9 month visit.

Re: Seaford Ped Moms...Come on in!
Hi another Seaford Ped mom. When DD saw dr cathy she also told me no meats until 9 months and I remember it was a specific question of mine.
The drs in the office do have differing opinions on things. I would follow what you were told by Dr Wren there may be a reason that your friend received different info then you.

My friend takes her daughter there, though I don't know which doctor she sees. I know she was told to wait until 9 months for meat. She started solids at 4 months.
