Second Beta In-Not Sure to Be Happy or Sad, Please Help!

Friday my first beta was a 31. Three days later, (72 hours) it is an 84. My DR said its good and seemed pleased. I on the other hand am not sure to believe that. They asked me to come in again in two days, Wednesday for a third beta which indicates to me they're worried, no? My progesterone was 25.

Is it "normal" just to do its "doubling" and this is what you'd expect starting out so low or you'd hope it would be much higher?

You are doubling so I wouldn't worry too much. They will probably do the beta on wed and if it looks good not do another.

Beta is supposed to double every 48-72 hours, and yours did slightly better, so yay!

Betas should double about every 48 hours. Your second beta was done at 72 hours and it more than doubled, so it seems perfectly normal. Some REs do 2 betas and I've heard of others doing 3, so I wouldn't worry.

Don't worry about the actual number, it almost tripled in 72 hours, so that's amazing!!

If you plug your numbers in here you can see the actually doubling times. Your's seem to be good. I always had 3 betas done so I think it's normal.

Doubling time is 72 hrs, not 48. You more than doubled in that time.

Yes, this! I think your doctor is just making sure your numbers continue to double.

At 15 DPO (12dp3dt) with DS, my beta was 70.

It doubled - I'd be optimistic!

So far you are steady! As long as the second number doubles, it is considered a normal progression. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
