silly question- when you guys have OFF the last period is it politically correct that you leave early every once in a blue moon ? sounds too tempting  
I had 9th off last year and I think I left 2x the entire year - one time was related to my miscarriage and having to get to Quest lab before they closed at 3, and I think the other time was a Friday and I was driving to Maryland solo and my AP knew (very early) that I was pregnant again. It is heavily, heavily frowned upon.
ETA: The teachers who are known for coaching multiple sports will sometimes get 9th off so they have a breather before coaching, and they may leave to get coffee or a snack or something.

I'm NYC and we are told by the end of the school year as per the union.
yeah, yeah. We are told what we are supposed to be teaching by the end of the year. However, come Sept it could be a different story. Plus, we never get our schedules in June. They don't even make them up until this week. At least this is how it is in my school. My school is huge. There are way too many kids that enroll over the summer for them to make our schedules in June. But it would be nice to know right now!

My school is pretty large too but they get it done.

3rd - off
4th - Inclusion LE
5th - Inclusion LE lab every other day
Inclusion LE - 1 lab every other day
6th Inclusion LE - 1
7th - Lunch
8th off
9th - Self Contained 9/10 Math
