Seeing a genetics doctor
So i have a neurological disorder and there is a 50% chance my child will have it.
I am TTC, and i know the odds so should i still go see a genetics doctor?

Re: Seeing a genetics doctor
I suppose if you know the odds theres probably no need to see a genetics Dr. I suppose it all depends on the serverity of the problem. Has the Dr. advised you on weather or not having a child is a wise choice?

Re: Seeing a genetics doctor
I would. i was actually just talking about this with a co-worker. she said she was 20 weeks PG when she found out that both she and her husband were carriers for CF. she ended up having an amnio and the baby didn't have it, but if it did she probably would have terminated the pregnancy.
she suggested I test for all that stuff, if possible, before getting pregnant... we don't have any history in my family but I still plan to ask my dr. about it.
