Re: Selling gold?
I can't really answer your questions, but I read on another board that gold parties are really hot right now. Basically a jewler comes to your home, you invite a bunch of people, he pays cash to your guests for the gold and then you get 10% of the total. Easy way to make some $$!

Re: Selling gold?
I just sold some gold the other day.
1. I couldn't sell my HS ring. Not that I loved HS or anything, but I kind of want to keep it. My parents bought it for me, it is kind of sentimental.
2. I brought lots of stuff with stones and diamonds, and they gave me nothing extra for them. If it is a big enough diamond or pearl, you never know.
3. I went to Budget Buy and Sell in Patchogue. They gave me a good price. I have a little less then one ounce of gold and I got $340. My MIL had three ounces and got $1200. Figure it is $400 per ounce. They did take a few things out that I thought was gold, but it wound up being gold plated.
