separating the broth from the other ingredients in chicken soup
I put potatoes and ziti noodles in my chicken soup. They always soak up all the broth when I refrigerate it. I now strain the broth and keep it separate. Does anyone else do this? Also, why doesn't this happen to canned soup?

damn good question, lol-I dk why it doesn't happen to canned soup, the noodles in their soup taste nasty though.

I always keep them separate for this reason. You can strain it or you can make the pasta/potatoes on the side and add the amount that you want into each individual bowl.

I would never put potatoes in a chicken soup. Eliminate the potatoes all together if you have noodles. Add noodles after the fact.
I remove all of the veggies from mine and then strain.
