Separation anxiety -- yikes
Over the past week, DD has become a complete & total Mommy's girl -- while I love the attention, and tightness of her grip while in my arms, I was very close to tears myself this morning after leaving her at daycare with tears streaming down her face. This was the first time she's done this -- she was sick since Thursday, so maybe that has something to do with it?
She is normally such a bubbly happy & giggly girl, but all it takes now is the mere sight or sound of me when she's not in my arms to set her off. It rips my heart out.
any tips on making it easier for her...& me? How long will this last?

I know how you feeel I remember when my DD did that to me she wasn't feeling good for a couple of days a nd all she wantedwas mommy. Daddy couldn't even sleep in the bed cuz she wouldn't let him she would cry when he came in but then once she was better I took her to daycare and she wouldn't let go of me I felt like ahorrible mommy but it did get better it lasted about 3 days and then she was fine again.
Hopethat makes you feel a bit better

thanks, Jennifer. Hopefully it will get better sooner rather than later. There is nothing worse than seeing your child cry

Re: Separation anxiety -- yikes
My son did this last month (he is 9 months) but it only lasted about 2 weeks. He is more suspicious of others but he does not cry.
The wierd thing was he would cry when I came back from somewhere not when I left.

I totally agree. Eventhe woman at the daycare told me that it was seprations anxiety and she would cry for about 5 minutes after I left then she was totally fine and playing with the other children. The best is when you pick up your child from daycare and they see you and yell mommy mommy and come running to you

aw! hm, that would leave me perplexed as well. Maybe he's anticipating you leaving again? That's pretty advanced thinking!
I'm glad it only lasted a couple of weeks. Hopefully DD's anxiety won't linger either.

My DH usually picks her up, but the few times i've been able to I love the look on her face when she sees me
thanks for the reassurance.

Isabella is starting to get like this as well. She is 9 months and is all about mommy and I have been sneaking out of daycare while they distract her so I haven't had to deal with her crying yet, but I am dreading it...
I have been told they get this and stranger anxiety but it passes quick...
I love that she adores me, but it's definitely hard when they get upset...

thanks for your response... DD is 8 months, so I guess its around the time it 'sinks' in. This morning wasn't so bad, so hopefully since she's feeling better, it'll get easier :)

no problem...it's hard because while I love that she wants me, it's heartbreaking when you have to leave and you know that you are upsetting her by doing so...I still have been lucky enough that she's been distracted at daycare and hasn't gone hysterical when leaving...I know it's comin'...but the women there tell me it last for like 5 minutes when it happens and then they are fine...there is one boy there that cries when ANYONE leaves the room...YIKES!
