Septum in the Uterus
Hello..
I just had my hystercopy last week and the dr said i had a a very small septum in my uterus.. he does not think that is the cause of our RPL since it is small but he said something for us to keep in mind. We had all the blood taken and semen analysis as well so we are just waiting for those results.Once everything is in then we will see what the next step is..
I just thought I would ask about others experience with this.
Thanks!

Re: Septum in the Uterus
Hello
Basically it is a membrane that gorws out of the top of the uterus and in some cases can split the uterus in 2. it does not have blood flow so if a fetus impants on it than it can't be sustained. There is a surgery that you can do to take this out if it is serious.
My dr said my septum was very small less than 10% ( whatever that means exactly) so he does not think that is the issue but he mentioned it during our hystercomy since he saw it. I have had sonograms with past pregnancies and it was not visible though that so I am hoping that is a good sign..that is is not large enough to be inpeding.
We are just starting out on this infertility journey so we are waiting to see what all the blood work/ semen analysis shows but i was doing a bit of research on it..thought I would see if others had this as well...

Re: Septum in the Uterus
I have this. It's sometimes called a bicornate uterus. In my case, the top of the uterus dips down and makes it look heart-shaped. I don't think it's too big of a problem with ttc unless your uterus is completely split into 2. Good luck to you and lots of baby dust!
