Seriously, what is with the way these teen girls are dressing today???
If I have a daughter and I catch her wearing ANYTHING remotely like I saw today---she WILL be locked in a closet!
So we (DH, Troy and I) were at Roosevelt Field for a few things. We also had lunch there. While in the food court, we saw 3 girls, maybe 15 yrs old. I swear, their shorts covered LESS than some of my underpants! 
And one girl had a tank top on that was tied in the back and pulled up exposing her belly.
Now, all three girls were thin and in shape, but come on, do you REALLY need to be wearing such skimpy clothing?? And I know it was a beautiful day, but it's not like it was 95 degrees and humid.
I'm sorry, I just can't stand how alot of the young girls dress these days.

UGHHHHHHHHHH i agree
But they mimic what they see on tv and what celebs wear.
I don't even blame them. I blame the parents that buy and allow them to wear these things

I hate it but that's all they see on TV.
Look at the junior clothing sections in the stores and how it is presented. Sex is shoveled in their face. They don't just come up with those skimpy shorts. Someone is actually manufacturing them and selling them in stores.
It's sad!
Even the Bratz dolls have THONGS!!!!!
BUT it is still up to the parents not to buy those clothes, telling the girl to go back to her room and change into "normal" clothes.
They apparently were not of driving age. That mean one of the parents dropped them at the mall. Then the parents are just as much to blame if not more to let them dress that way.

Actually, you should see what some of their moms are wearing.
As a high school teacher, I can tell you when administration calls the parent about "inappropriate dress" the mom often comes to the school wearing nearly the same outfit 
The apple, for better and for worse, often doesn't fall far from the tree.

Thank you for posting this. I was beginning to think it was just me and my age!! 
I'd like to add that I really hate those pants or shorts with something written across the bum. Why draw everybody's attention to that area???
ETA: I know I did sometimes change my clothes into something my mom wouldn't have allowed me to wear, but at least by changing after I left the house I knew it was inappropriate!

seriously i know what you are thinking... when I go to see where my dh is teaching some of these girls dress crazy... one day some girl said I KNOW I CAN GET MR. MARTIN!!! Is this crazy?!!!!

I do not even think that it is just the moms of girls who have to worry. I don't want my DS bringing home an almost naked girl to meet me!!!!
ETA: That is why I fully expect him to stick with the respectable children of LIFers.

Crazy.... I don't even know why they bother to get dressed. We were at Adventureland yesterday and there were tons of 14 15 16 y/o girls with the TINIEST of shorts and white tanks pulled up to expose the bellies......white tanks on the water rides....come on! I used it as a learning experience for DD and told her if she ever thought she could dress like that she will never go out with friends that it was disgusting! she agreed, hopefully she has the same feeling in 5 or so years!

I also think that girls dress ridiculously! My Dh and I are always saying------there is NO WAY Emily is going to leave the house looking like that ---- EVER!!!
I have a 19 year old sister and thankfully she has always been sensible. She prefers her shorts to be a normal length, and I hope Emily takes after her fun Aunt Irene and is the same way.

I completely agree with what everyone has said...the girls today dress far too mature for their ages...I will be quite strict on what my DD wears until she goes away to college or university...i do not want her running around in too short shorts or barely there tops

tell me about it! I teach at a middle school and it is horrifying the way these young girls dress! they are trying to be too "mature". It's disgusting.

ITA! I think its even worse here in LA- they all want to be "movie stars" or something. Its so disgusting.

DH and I are having a girl and we already have established that we will either not accept (rather return) ANY gift that says "JUICY" across the butt from the get go. Children should be children - NOT sexy.
