service contracts and oil burner replacement
If you have a service contract on your oil burner/hot water heater and they go, does the company you have the contract with replace the oil burner/hot water heater for free (it is included in the contract)? I am having an argument over this with my father just wondering what the standard is.

Re: service contracts and oil burner replacement
I have a contract on my burner and the burner just recnetly went and it is NOT replaceable as per the contract only to service it. But once it is deemed unfixable it is my problem so we are now out about 5K!
We are shopping around as we speak

Slomins offers a "boiler insurance contract".
For about $220 a year, you get everything covered with replacement. Burner repacement. Oil tank replacement (if its above ground). Baseboard replacement. Not sure about water heater but Slomins said anything related to the heating system is covered, so I guess this is covered.

Re: service contracts and oil burner replacement
Slomins has a lot of levels. I have a contract where they discount the burner 25%. They will replace or repair my oil tank.
I pay $149 a year.
A lot of companies don't replace boilers. Because I have a steam system that's the contract I could get.
