Re: setting baby stuff up
that's exactly what I had ready before I went into the hospital i also had the pack and play set up in my living room with a little changing station next to it.
I made sure my changing table in the nursery was stocked with diapers, wipes, burp cloths, rash ointment/cream and onesies.
I also cleaned and steralized bottles and set up the drying rack and bottle warmer in my kitchen.

setting baby stuff up
Around 35-36 weeks I put together the RNP, registered the car seat and bases (important to register baby products so they can alert you in case there's a recall), DH built the furniture, put clothes away and set up the nursery. We didn't install the car seat base until about 37-38 weeks because if you're god forbid in an accident, it would need to be replaced. Bottles we did the day we brought DD home. It didn't take long and she was still on nursettes.
This time I'm 38w now, furniture is not built, I have to wash the RNP and car seat covers, haven't even looked through clothes. I still need new nipples for the bottles. DH will install the base when I'm at the hospital since it takes 5 minutes and he's a pro by now lol. Basically we have nothing done. But as long as I have something for her to wear, a place for her to sleep, diapers, and something to eat (will be trying BFing again and if not, we'll just run out to get formula), I'm not worried lol. Second time mom lol.

Re: setting baby stuff up
I'm planning on getting EVERYTHING ready within October & November (I'm due mid-December). Not just what I'll be using right away, but even the things I won't. Like the bassinet in my room of course, but I'm also going to have his bedroom completely finished as well - even though that probably won't be used for at least 4 months. I just know from experience that once baby comes, I have zero energy to use on that kind of stuff. I want things ready for when I need it.

Do as much as you can now. The farther along you get, the harder it is to do things and the more tired you are. Also, I went early with both of my kids, so you never really know how much more time you have left pg.
