I have been working my butt off lately at work, so on vacation I just want to lie on the beach and relax (why we are going to the Caribbean in December!). Europe is great, but totally different--so much walking and touristy stuff...I come home more exhausted than before I left. I guess it doesn't have to be like that, but when I go it's all walking around and seeing all the sights.

I chose the Carribbean because when I go away, all I want are WARM weather and the beach.
I'd love to go to Greece, back to Italy, etc. but I love being lazy on my vacations.

Europe no contest!!!!
The Caribbean, cruising, all inclusive resorts and intense hot sun do nothing for this very pale world history teacher I went to London for my honeymoon and will probably never go to the Caribbean.

I agree. Especially in winter/early spring. Give me: No cell phones, no work calls, 85 degree weather, sunshine, a drink on the beach, DH in a swimsuit,a comfy beach chair, a steel drum band, tropical fruit and a beautiful sunset.
I don't care how many vacations I have had like this, it NEVER gets old

That is around the time I went this year. Greece has better beaches than the Caribbean and it is relaxing there as well, not all of Europe is sightseeing!

I thnk it all boils down to the kind of person you are
I am the complete opposite...I can't relax and sit on a beach for a week
i would be sooooo BORED and annoyed...
I need much more in a vacation that lasts more than 3 days

I completely agree. This is my type of vacation. Just add in a few good books and some really good food and I'm happy. Sometimes I might want to throw in a tiny bit of sight seeing, but I don't like to come home more tired than when I left (from too much sight seeing.)

Vacations are for lounging. I've been to both places....my first choice would be the Caribbean, but there are so many more places to visit in Europe. It's a toss up for me.
