Re: Shannen Doherty
That sweater looks comfy! Not feeling the skirt or the booties.
She's at that hair regrowth post-chemo stage where your hair just looks like stuffed animal fur. I remember that! I follow her on FB and IG and she seems to be doing well from what she posts. She's also become active again with different organizations that mean a lot to her.

I am always curious about this- did your hair grow back the same as it was pre-chemo? I have heard from some people that it grows back a different texture or they have curls they never had before etc.
I'm glad she is looking better... hopefully she continues to do and feel well. I know she's been through hell

In the beginning, my hair came back very light blond and the texture was like how Shannen's looks...not exactly straight but not curly. Just sort of weirdly wavy. It really had the texture of stuffed animal fur, or artificial fur on a hood. There was a period when it was short and sort of wavy; chemo changes the shape of you hair shafts so that's why some people experience curls. For me (and most people I know who were bald due to treatment), their hair starts coming back in with a curl or wave, but as the hair grows in, the weight of it brings it back to its original texture.
As it grew back, the color went *almost* back to my real color...I used to have a little bit more red in it. The texture returned to pin-straight and it's very thick (it always was that way, since I was a kid)
It's now three years since regrowth and its at my mid-back. I get surprised when I lean back on it and feel my hair pulled a little. It's great lol! I'm like OMG YEAHHH MY HAIR IS BACK!!! I'm going to be chopping it off this summer to donate it.

OK yeah, that makes sense I guess. I would imagine that any hair growing in- whether it was lost to chemo or if you just shaved your head, would have an odd texture until it got long enough. But I didn't realize the chemo drugs change the shape of your hair shaft too. So cool that you are long enough to donate now. My hair grows so slowly it would be like 15 years before it got to that point. lol

You actually feel the sensation of your hair shafts shutting down in the day or two before the loss begins.
It's very, very odd.
It was nice to have virgin hair again. Been a long time since I could consider any part of me a virgin LMAOOOO
