not sure if this is tip or not...but i think that i may have DH put the loop lock cver on the pool...just in case debris such as tree branches land in or around the pool area. I do not want to replace the liner again...once this year is more than i can afford

Re: share your tips for getting your home/family ready for the hurricane....
DH is working Sunday and I am having him bring home some bags of ice - we are going to keep a big cooler filled with ice in the garage in case we lose power.
I need to save my breastmilk, and maybe a carton of ice cream

Only the essentials I see. LOL
Thank God wine doesn't need to be refrigerated!

I put my wine on my kitchen counter last night - I dont want to be fumbling around my cabinets in the dark if the power goes out!

Call your insurance agent now.
Just called mine to get the lowdown on what's covered. Now I know the difference between a category 1 & 2 hurricane. It's about $10K to me.

stock up on non perishable foods, bottled water, candles, matches/lighters, batteries, battery operated radio, plenty of dog/cat food if you have pets, and plenty of baby food and formula if you have a child.
Charge all electronic devices beforehand in case of power lose.
store all patio furniture, balcony furniture and children's outside toys in a garage, or shed.
Fill up your gas tank early, before they jack up the prices and your stuck waiting on a long line.
