Re: sharing baby stuff when you might not be done with it?
I don't mind lending out or getting rid of anything besides clothes. I don't even want any more kids. I feel like I have a weird hoarding obsession!

Re: sharing baby stuff when you might not be done with it?
I offer everything to my SIL and she takes what she needs and gives it back when she's done. I am not 100% sure we are done having kids yet, but I love seeing my nephew wearing DS's stuff. He had so many cute outfits! I realize that some things may get ruined. No biggie to me.

Nope. Nothing was given away or shared until I knew i was 100% done.

Re: sharing baby stuff when you might not be done with it?
I didn't share anything of my DD's with anyone, not that it ever came up anyway. But we want more children and I would rather everything just stay packed away and in really good condition until we need it again. I would hate to have lent something out and then have to replace it if something happened to it. Once we're done for sure with kids then I have no problem just giving it all away. But for now, it's all stored away in the hopes of a baby #2.

Re: sharing baby stuff when you might not be done with it?
I'm grappling with this myself right now.
My cousin is due with next month. The have a 3 year old , so they do need boy things. She asked me the other day if we have anything for them to borrow. I have *everything* from DS saved and am having a hard time sharing my stuff. I know how awful that sounds, but I am DEATHLY allergic to cats and they have 8. Anything that I would lend them would undoubtedly come back covered in cat hair which is harmful to me health-wise. Yes, they can vacuum it, but my allergy is so strong that I am affected by the littlest amount of cat hair/dander/what have you.

I don't believe in "sharing" baby stuff. If you lend it out, expect to not get it back. There are any number of reasons you won't get it back, but you have to assume you won't see that stuff again. If you are thinking of having more DC, I would hold onto what you have.
Agree.

Re: sharing baby stuff when you might not be done with it?
My cousin and his wife were having a boy and were asking through other family members to borrow some of DS's clothing - espeically because they literally share the same birthday - just a year apart.
We're not done having kids - so I wasn't so keen on lending it out. Plus, it is all good clothing in great condition. I want the 2nd round of use to be for my child.
I decided to just give her the items that I didn't particular use a lot or like, or the clothing that people gave us without reciepts that weren't my style for DS and never wore.
I gave her a large bin to pacify through the first 8 months.
Now she's been dropping hints about the next group - again she will get the items I rarely used or items that were gifts and I never used.
I think what gets me the most about this is that her sister has 2 year old twin boys and her SIL (my cousin) has 2 boys - so there is PLENTY of clothing to be handed down to her.
