She just will NOT nap in the crib... why?
At night, she goes right down in her crib (either sleeping or awake) and STTN in there with no problem. Why is it different during the day?
If your DC was the same way, when did they start napping in their crib? DD is 5 months.

Mine napped in the swing until about 6 months... I don't think I did anything special, it just happened.

Mine napped in the swing until about 6 months... I don't think I did anything special, it just happened.
Same here! She wanted nothing to do with the crib for naps, until she finally gave up the swing. Once she refused to sleep in the swing, I switched to the crib and now it's the only place she'll sleep.
It really just happened when she was ready.

Just trying to narrow it down...
I forgot to add that. I always draw the blinds and make it s dark as possible during the day when she naps. Plus, I use the sound machine and her aquarium, just like we do at night. I think she associated all those things with "sleep" now, regardless if it's for nap time or overnight.

at around 5.5 months we switched her from swing to crib for naps. We started by just shutting off her swing after she fell asleep. Then we would start her off in her crib sleeping, and switch her to the swing if she woke up early and she just sorta got it by 6 months.

I'm no help. DD is 7.5 months old now and she is exactly the same as your daughter. Goes right down at night and STTN, but absolutely WILL NOT nap in there. We have a baby due in July so at this point I'm just praying she 'gets it' before that time!

I keep the AC between 76 and 78 during the day and whenever I try to put her down to nap in her room I make sure the blinds are closed. It's not completely dark at all but not bright either.
She'll sleep in the swing in the living room which has sliding glass doors and is the brightest room in the house!

She'll nap great in the swing, in the car, in her stroller or on me if she falls asleep while BFing. But she will just lay wide awake in her crib and eventually start whining/crying. She's not the type to fall asleep to music or toys either... we have the rainforest crib toy in there and she will watch it until it shuts off then start to fuss, same with her mobile.
I guess I should just wait it out a little longer and hopefully she'll start on her own. I don't really mind yet but I know she's going to outgrow the swing soon and when she's at my IL's she doesn't nap well at all.

Is it too bright? We use black out shades in DS's room as well as a fan for noise.
Just some ideas. Good luck. Babies and sleep is a giant mystery to me still.

She does the same exact thing. Sleeps great in her crib at night, and only my arms durring the day
Really don't know what to do!

Santino goes right down at night in his pack and play but during the day he likes to nap in his swing. Once in a while a get him to nap in his crib but then I know I can't count on a nice long one! He always naps best in the swing. I'm figuring when he is really too big for his swing it will just work itself out. Everything always seems to so that's my new philosophy lol
