advice please - DS will nap in crib for DH but not for me!?
i am so exhausted and exasperated.
we've been trying to get ds on a sleep schedule using concepts from "healthy sleep habits, happy child" and "on becoming baby wise".
we let ds cio for 10 minutes before going in and consoling him.
day 1, with dh all day, he needed only one consolation before going to sleep.
by day 2, again with dh, he was falling asleep on his way up to the crib, no crying!
today, day 3, with me all day, he will NOT go down in the crib  this last nap we did THREE cio/consoling cycles before i called it quits.
of course, he is now SOUND ASLEEP - in my arms
could it be that he views me differently somehow than dh??
advice please?

I am EBF...Josh has a completely different relationship with DH then me when it comes to napping and bedtime.
DH thinks he has the magic touch. All he has to do is lay with him for 3-5 minutes, and he is out.
Me, forget it. Unless josh really wants to go to sleep, I feel like I have to nurse forever. I try to get him to sleep without nursing and its craziness.

It definitely could be. My DD has been sick for over a week now. My DH can rock her a little and then put her down in the crib, walk away....no problem. I rock her, put her down, walk away and all he!! breaks loose. I just think it's the mother/child bond. She doesn't want me to leave her.
Hopefully it's just a phase that will soon pass.

yes, i'm bfing. dh gives him bottles, but when i'm around i nurse him.
omg... what am i going to do if he decides not to ever nap for me??
he's barely 3 months, what happens as he gets older and even more attached to mommy???

this is exactly what is going on here! i'm barely out the door and he's already screaming - and this is after consoling him pretty much to sleep for at least 3-5 minutes.
dh consoles for literally 30 seconds and it's over, he's out.

I held him for each and every nap for the first 8 months. It was that or no nap.

ITA with this. If it's me, she wants to nurse or be comforted differently. DH has it SO much easier! Hang in there!

We're going through the same thing right now too. DD ONLY wants me most of the time, so even though she's passed out on me for 1/2 hour, the SECOND I try to put her in the crib, she's up and grabbing for me With DH, he'll rock her for 15 minutes (or more) and she's out, he'll put her in the crib and that's it.
