She's gone
Well... if you remember my other post asking about putting a dog to sleep... well thankfully (I guess) it didn't come to that.
Princess died in her sleep Wednesday night.  She'd been living at my Dad's house because that was her "home" - she lived there the longest and we all felt she'd be happiest and most comfortable there. The vets said there was nothing they could do for her since it was just old age.
I just found out today because my Dad didn't have the heart to tell me. For the past couple of days his GF has been making excuses saying that he was out with the dog whenever I came by.
I saw her the last day she was alive. She didn't look good, I have to admit, but I am glad that at least I got to see her on her last day. Though I'm very sad, I'm glad that she's not suffering anymore. 
Thank you to those who FM'd me asking about her and how she was doing.

I am very sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your father in my prayers. Here's a poem that I hope brings you a little closure. I give it to anyone who loses a beloved pet. Please pass this on to your father as well.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Love that Rainbow Bridge poem-it is so touching. Our vet sent it to us when we had to put our dog to sleep recently.
