Shiny casualty...and I love my insurance company (and it's not just because I work for them!)

We had a casualty....My poor e-ring! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I had a rough morning on Monday so I was rushing.

- I woke up to find my cell phone dead so I fumbled around looking for the car charger (which was in my car...duhhhh Chat Icon)

- I put sour milk in my cereal and ruined the last of my cheerios. Of course I smelled it first, but these darn allergies don't let me smell ANYTHING!

- THEN, to quote Alanis, "It's a traffic jam when you're already late" .... I sat on the Southern for almost an hour.

- Ahh. Finally at work. Went into the office and threw down all my stuff only to realize that I couldn't find my phone. Went back out to the car to get it... it was still connected to the charger cord, but had fallen under the drivers seat. Sooo I open the backseat door to fish my phone out from under the drivers seat, grab it, then push the door closed.

At that exact moment it struck me that MY KEYS WERE ON THE BACKSEAT. I stuck my arm in the way of the door and ending up crunching my hand pretty nicely. I yanked my hand backwards in pain and POP - out flies my diamond! Upon later inspection, we realized that I broke off 2 prongs and cracked the ring in 4 places. Rings are not made to be slammed in doors!!!!

My rings probably saved a few broken fingers - you don't even know what I had to go through to get the rings off my incredibly swollen purply finger!!!!

I called the regional office and put a claim through - the claim rep called me 2 hours later. I was at the State Farm approved jeweler for a repair/replacement estimate the next day (Tuesday)...on Wednesday, the claim rep called me and offered to either cash me out on the policy or have their approved jeweler do the work, but I wanted my family jeweler to take care of everything. My claim rep sent out a check - I had it THURSDAY.

Friday went by soooo slowly. I felt naked without my rings! I'd worn the e-ring everyday for 3 years - wedding band for just over 5 months. I kept looking down at my hand and frowning!

And finally SATURDAY was here. My jeweler fixed me right up and I'M NO LONGER NAKED! Woohoo!

I had several gorgeous stones to choose from in my budget and ended up with a cushion (old stone was a princess). It complements my antique setting nicely!

I don't really think the whole process could've been any faster/easier.

SO GLAD I'M SHINY AGAIN!!!!!!
