Shirts w/ kids names???? Yay or Nay? - UPDATED w/ pic

I'm going to Baltimore's Inner Harbor with my sister and her son and my son.

I was thinking of getting "Big Cousin, Little Cousin" shirts. The ones I really liked had their names on it.

Is it cute or a security risk?

-The kids are almost 2 and 3 1/2.

-Neither kid is a runner

-Both are timid around strangers, so I don't think the'd be likely to go to someone without parental approval.

~TIA!

Also, there will be either 3-4 adults and the 2 kids. I'm sure we'll be calling their names anyway.

i wouldn't do it--Baltimore can be really shady! i mean, maybe if it was to a family event or something, but not a huge place like the Baltimore aquarium where they could easily get lost and someone could find them.

Big NO.

I do not put my kids first names on anything, only their initials. I won't even post their first names on LIF.

Strangers do NOT need to know my kids first names, anything can happen, and to a little kid, anyone who knows their first name is "familiar".

I wouldn't do it. The Inner Harbor, while nice and not as shady as other parts of Baltimore, is a tourist trap and you have no idea what kind of people are hanging around there. Even before all of the info came out about Jaycee Duggard case, I would never have my child's name visible on their clothing for the world to see. Too risky. JMHO, though.

I think it's fine. For kids that young, it's not like they're going to be far away from you that strangers will lure them away.

Also, all you have to do is say your kid's name once in public, and everyone around you knows their name! Totally not a big deal, IMO.

This is the shirt I was thinking about.

Do you think it would look okay without the name?

You can get it with whatever words you want - Jacob/Big Brother.

What a cute shirt! How about doing just their initials instead?
