Shopping for random stuff...

like telephones? how do you shop for one? decor? features?

I have an old farm house......should my phone "match" my house lol

these are the things I think about...

(I should say I haven't had a land line is 6 plus years, and haven't purchased a phone in at least 10)

Ooo...maybe an old fashioned phone like this:

I would put something like that where it is mostly visible. Then just get the regular cordless ones for the rest of the house. Chat Icon

Phones you can buy anywhere:
Circuit City, Best Buy, PC Richards, etc...

As for decor, I look everywhere...both in stores and online.

Hey...did you post pics of your new house yet? If you did, I missed it. Chat Icon Chat Icon

If you want your phones to match your decor, that's certainly doable!

For me, though, I wanted portable phones and at least one "regular" phone. I also needed to make sure that all of the handsets had both speaker phone and mute. I work from home frequently and do lots of conference calls for work. For me, it was function over form... but some of the older styled phones are so beautiful. (I'm sure many of them have lots of features, too... I was just looking strictly from a features standpoint when I was looking.)

While novelty phones to match the home decor are nice, we opted for cordless phones. They are SO much more functional. But there are some really cool old school phones out there......

Maybe a vintage phone in the common area (kitchen) and a cordless as a second line (in the bedroom/office)?

I love this phone.

I was thinking of that...and putting it in a phone closet Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't mind a functional one, but I need to hide it well Chat Icon we won't even have a computer up there...we are using my laptop.

the tv's will be the only electronic thing seen (everything else will be in cupboards)
