Should I be concerned?

My son was born on March 11 and has seen the ped 3 times since birth. His last visit was April 22 when he got his shots. His next appointment is not until July 22. I just think that is too long. Am I being an overprotective mom?

I would say so! My DD was born Feb. 13 and she's seen the Dr. basically once a month... I'd ask them why they want to see DS so little?

Re: Should I be concerned?

My ped. sched to see my son once a month (of course me being the anal annie that I am- I had him there more like 2-3xs/month Chat Icon )

But his sched. apt. by the ped. was once a month... He got a shot @ each visit... since he was 2 months old...

AT his 7 month check up- my Dr said he didnt need to see him again for 2 months... but if it would make me feel better- to make the apt. for 6 weeks....(and no more shots til his 1st b-day.Chat Icon )

I would def. be concrened...I think its important for the babies to be there once a month, to make sure they are eating correctly, to make sure they are developing correctly, to help guide you with eating solids...

This is JMHO- and Im a very paranoid...momma, so that may have a lot to do with it... but I would be seeking more apts. or finding a different dr.

that does seem like a long stretch to me, I would definately question it.
My ped. would see my daughter once a month for the first 6 months, now we go every other month until her first birthday.

Re: Should I be concerned?

Thanks ladies. I just called and I made an appoitnment for May 11 and June 22. I expressed my concern and was a little annoyed and they understood. I am going to talk to the ped on Thursday when I see her and let her know how I feel.

My babies go every 2 months, and IMO I don't think thats enough. I usually will get an extra visit in there somehow.
