Should I bring a camcorder to Italy with me?
I was going to buy one but then I kind of thought it would just get in the way and give us an extra item to worry about and carry around.
I know a lot of museums and churches dont' allow use of camcorders inside too.
Should I bring one? Will I regret not bringing one one day? I may never get a chance to go back here...I'm wondering if still photos would be enough to preserve our memories....
thanks!

I would not. Italy is well know for its overload of pickpockets, and I think a camcorder around your neck and in your hand would make you a farily large target.
Honestly, the memories will be in your mind. Video or still photos will never capture it all.

We did and we were so happy we did, especially when we got to see the Pope unexpectedly for New Year's Eve mass. You definitely have to be mindful of your stuff over there but I think it was worth it. Enjoy!

We brought ours, and I'm so glad we did; I made some great DVDs combining video footage with still pictures.

Re: Should I bring a camcorder to Italy with me?
I was in Europe twice this year- just got back from Spain... I wish I would have brought our camcorder...although it would have been a bit of a pain in the tush to carry it along, these trips are "once in a lifetime" kind of memories and even though we took about 400 pics, a video of it would have been nice to have

Re: Should I bring a camcorder to Italy with me?
we brought ours and am so glad that we did...there are so many beautifl things to capture and we wanted to show our families it "live" (we know they most likely would never travel there)....i put it in my pocketbook that i crossed over my body and had no problems...at times it was a little annoying but in the end so worth it......most people had theirs with them

I would bring it. When my husband and I went to Italy we did not bring one and I wish we did. Italy is just so beautiful and it would be great to capture it on video.
