Should I call the doctor? Late Update!

I'm due on 5/20 but have a scheduled c/s for 5/11. I just went to the bathroom and had some blood mixed with mucus every time I wiped (I kept checking to be sure it wasn't just once). I have to work overnight tonight and I"m the only person on in the pharmacy. I don't feel any pain/cramping or anything like that. Is it worth it to call the doc, or do you think it is just losing my mucus plug and nothing is really happening? I was at the doc on Tuesday and there was nothing going on. I'm just a bit scared that things will start happening overnight and I'll be stuck, the only one at work and won't be able to leave. WWYD?

I would call the doctor. I never spotted with DD until the night I went into labor and I had spotting only when I wiped. It can't hurt to call and just give a heads up.

It's worth a call (sounds like a mucous plug to me too).

Losing your plug doesn't mean immediate labor so don't panic - but they may have some restrictions along with it.

Also, you are to term now! So anytime after 36 weeks is technically right on time!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

If you went to the dr. on Tues. and they did an internal, they might have just aggravated your cervix. I would wait and see what happens.

Re: Should I call the doctor? Late update!

Well, I was in labor! I called the doc and told him what was happening and that I was supposed to work that night. He told me to go to L&D to get checked out before I went to work. They said I was contracting every 4-6 minutes (although I only felt "crampy" in my back). When the nurse did a pelvic exam she said I wasn't dilated at all and then when she pulled her hand out (sorry TMI) I felt a GUSH and knew that my water broke. So they kept me there all night and my new baby girl was born via c/s at 10:23 the next morning! We got home Weds afternoon and are just trying to get adjusted to life at home now.
