Should I call the Dr ( M/S related)
I have been home from work since ( and including) last Friday.
Im VERY naseaous almost all day long. Im on the zofran 3x a day.
I have been keeping some food down...Id say I am managing about 2 meals a day and usually one will stay down. It just hurts afterwards from the severe nausea...but it does stay down.
When I talk too much I feel naseous.
The Dr knows Im experincing this and really had no suggestions.
im scared about my job and losing it...
But I havent called the Dr in the last week because I dont think theres anything they can do for me.
Should I call??
Thanks for the advice

DR H is on vaca this week, but Dr Dolisi is taking her patients. It cannot hurt to call just to see if there is something that can help.
Feel better

Personally, I'd call the doctor at the very least you can get a Dr's note.
By the way, does your job have FMLA? Because if they do then you can't get fired for staying home b/c of a pregnancy related issue. Mine doesn't, so I always have to haul my hiney in here, but I read that in Your Pregnancy Week by Week and it stuck with me.
Feel better, I had such a bad day yesterday I totally feel your pain

Im waiting for them to send me the FMLA paperwork .
they wont accept a note, they want me to apply for FMLA which I mentioned to the DR at the last visit, she understood.

so sorry you are having to deal with this. I have very bad M/S still do at 23 weeks. I only missed 1 day because of it but I do work from home when I feel really bad.
If you can take FMLA do it. Or can you go out on disability? My OB is not big on that but yours may do it for you so you can still get paid.
How many weeks are you?

I guess Im afraid, b/c they keep telling me theres nothing they can do , I should go to the ER if its really bad.
I have done that twice and personally 8-9 hours there is just too much. I can keep fluids down, albeit maybe not enough.
I feel like Im wasting their time calling if I wont go to the Er anyway.
But then I think , should I be telling them..
ahhh

call. i WISH i had demanded more from my last pregnancy in this area. there are times that i know i should've been hospitalized if only to get fluids in through an IV. i would call and my dr. would say "just rest" but i mean, i wasn't eating! you are already on pretty tough meds, no one should think you are faking this.

UGHHHHHHHHHH
So I call( someone is gonna call me back)
But the one who answers the phone, I tell this all too and she tells me to eat 5-6 small meals a day? I said thats impossible, Im barely doing 2 meals and am lucky if I keep one down.
She says well thats what you need to do to feel better.
Are you kidding?

Oh no, who answered the phone? Unless it was an NP or an RN, then they should NOT be giving "advice" like that.

Re: Should I call the Dr ( M/S related)
Have they diagnosed you with anything. If not you may have something called HYPEREMESIS. Not all docs are familiar in how to treat it unfortunately. It will make you dehydrated.
When eating meals you may have to try really bland food, toast seems to work and hyperemesis patients at times respond to grilled cheese sandwiches for some reason. Ask your doc abolut hyperemsis and see what he/she says.

If they tell you to go to the ER tell them that you want to go to a lab and have your bloods drawn to check your electrolytes first. Then if you are in fact dehyrdated you can go to the ER.

Yep, called about 10 minutes ago and said the same thing as always...The Zofran is a powerful pill. If it makes me feel 10% better its a good thing. If I can keep fluids down Im ok. And to go to the ER if I cant keep fluids down or am peeing less.
thing is I feel SCARED not to eat anything. And yet every little thing, even toast causes this intense nausea after I eat.
I am so tired

Re: Should I call the Dr ( M/S related)
Ok - I don't want to sound like a total idiot here - but - maybe you can take half of the pill and that won't make you as nauseous. I always got nauseous when I took aleve. It would make me sick as he!!. Maybe that's what is contributing to you feeling this way - instead of making you feel better?
