Should I put a ceiling fan in the babys room?
As we speak people are redoing what will be our babys nursery, they are puting in 4 highhats and they wanted to know if i wanted a ceiling fan/light int he center ....what do you all think?

I just heard on the news that a simple fan reduces SIDS by 70%!
So I would say yes!

I read ceiling fans are soothing for babies.. helps put them to sleep by watching them spin.
Also the other day someone posted in parenting a link stating how ceiling fans help reduce the chance of SIDS.
i wanted to do a ceiling fan in dds room but would have been to hard to do.

I am, and I also just read that a study showed babies who had fans in their rooms risk of SIDS were severly reduced. So yes.

We are putting one in - because of the SIDS thing as well as just better circulation in the room - the worst thing for baby is overheating.

There was just a recent report in NY Times and a few other papers and on the news about a recent study showing that fans in infant rooms can reduce the risk of SIDS by I think 70%. It also is nice to have a ceiling fan - it helps to circulate the air in the room and couldn't hurt to have.

I already had one in there. We have fans everywhere in this house. I love them because when it is warm out but not that warm, I turn the fan on.

We actually just bought a fan for the baby's room. I didn't even know about the SIDS risk going lower! Score! 
We got it because I know that *I* love having a ceiling fan in our bedroom. It stays on all the time, even in the winter time. I find I wake up much less stuffy in the morning when the air is circulated.

We have one and its a Godsend in the summer. But we don't have AC(live near the beach in LA so we don't need it) so its a must in the summer.
