should I report her or something?
I just called a doctor's office to make an appt(for a second opinion) . I asked if they take empire the receptionist said yes. Then I said I'd like to make an appt (without telling her that I need a second opinion). She asked what the problem was, I told her. Then she asked if I had been to another dr and I said yes. So she said " I AM SORRY BUT DR. ..... DOESN'T TAKE NEW PATIENTS FOR A WHILE" So I asked a friend of mine to call and see if she could make an appt. AND THEY GAVE HER AN APPT AS A NEW PATIENT So seems to me that the receptionist decided not to take me bc she thinks I am getting a second opinion, which is the case , but it's not for her to decide or assume unless I outright tell her . I am soooo annoyed Am I wrong? Should I do something about this? BC my plan was that if I like this doc I would stay with her (she is supposed to be the best) otherwise continue looking.

Re: should I report her or something?
If you are both new patients and your friend got one, I would say something. Find out the office managers number and speak to them. That is unacceptable. I worked in a Doctors office and never heard of such a thing.

Re: should I report her or something?
Was your friend also making an appointment as a new patient? It's not unheard of that a dr. won't take new patients for awhile...

Re: should I report her or something?
thats really odd. I don't know how far you are going to get, likely she will answer the phone again and you will have to deal with her.
Did another Dr reccomend you to them? maybe they can call over to have you seen, that usually works.
If not, I would just move on and find another Dr. since your not a current patient there, they probably won't let you speak to the Dr. about this issue.
or wait a week or 2 and call back and try again, and if she asks if you have been seen about this, say no.

I would find another doctor. If this is how it is before you even see the doc, imagine how you will be treated after.
Get an appt with another doctor. Then, send a letter to this doc.

Re: should I report her or something?
if your friend made an actual appoint..go in her place and tell them why u did that.
thats unheard of. they shouldnt care why you're there..whether its an initial visit or 2nd opinion..ughh..
the medical profession is just frustrating me to no end these days...
