Should I stop-potty training related
DD has interest but not sure if its enough. She really doesnt care if shes wet. I mean she LOVES the idea of underwear and can tell u shes wet but she never tells you prior to being wet that she has to go. She also can easily poop in her underwear and tell me "im dirty" but not prior to doing it. Shes not overjoyed when she goes on the potty and doesnt care if we are on the potty. I am wondering if she is just not ready for this.

Re: Should I stop-potty training related
It sounds like she's starting to show interest by telling you she's wet. I wouldn't force the issue but I'd continue to ask her if she wants to go. DD used to want the ring but now she really likes the low potty (which I hate to clean, but it works for her). Just put one out and let her see its there when she's ready. We have one that sings when about her being a big kid when she goes in it and you pull out a sticker and put it on a chart that came with it. She'll sit on it with a book sometimes. It's definitely the beginning!!
What you described is how Hannah was right before WANTING to do it herself. What pushed DD over to the potty side was pull-ups. I was "anti" pull up BUT she was really excited about them. We talked it up how they are like underwear and if she can keep them dry she will get underwear and a big girl bed soon.
Well she stays dry all day (with an accident here and there) and some nights and naps.
Good luck

I wouldnt stop...I would be consistent... (is your babysitter on board?)
From what I have seen is that the older they get the more challenging potty training becomes...
Rj didnt show interest- but he didnt challenge me either... In the begining its more about YOU being trained then it is the child... the rest comes on its own...
Hands down-potty training was one of the most difficult parenting tasks!
ETA- Working in childcare for the past 8 yrs- I have seen few children walk up to parents/teachers and say "I want to go on the potty" or "I want to potty train"... its usually something they get in the habit of doing and THEN say hey- I recognize this feel- hey I better go sit on the potty...In the beginning its up to YOU to catch her- before she needs to go...I told you- I set the timer for every 15 min, and just kept sitting him there... in hopes to catch him...

Is she waking up dry? That is a big sign. If not, I'd hold off. Good Luck!

She is NEVER wet ...thats the problem...its so hard to catch her.
Even if I do that 15 min timer thing...she will be dry for most of those intervals.
Do you girls think I should force more liquids to make the intervals happen?
