should I take him to ped or am I neurotic?

11 mo has had a drippy nose- alternating green/clear for 7-10 days. we were by ped a week ago for a well visit, and he did have fluid in ears. the past day or so, hes been playing with his ear- not constatnly, but i definitly see him touching it. mostly when hes sitting around- in stroller, in high chair. when he's playing, running around, he's fine. hes acting fine- no fever, STTN. cranky when i put him down, but calms down within 5 minutes.
hers my worries/neurosis
1. hes had 3 ear infections already, all wihtout fever- but he was CRANKY and waking at 5 am.
2. we are leaving thursday for 10 day trip to catskills. would you take him to be checked tomorrow? or no? going to my parents in catskills, i know some peds there

so, take him in or i'm neurotic?

I would take him, just on the off chance that something is brewing.

Don't be embarassed - that's what they are there for & trust me they are used to it.

Better to get him checked out now before you're on vacation & looking for a ped in the catskills

I would take him to be checked. Just be aware that he may have an ear infection brewing. If the Dr. says he's fine, but he starts complaining a few days later, you may want to take him to a PM Pediatrics or walk in clinic to get checked again.

Oh i know all too well what that's like. Chat Icon I felt like i lived there and was there every 2 weeks at one point. But honestly... being embarrassed is better than kicking yourself when you're paying the price in the catskills if he gets worse. Chat Icon I would definitely rather be safe than sorry and have it ruin your weekend. Chat Icon

It can't hurt to get him checked! What I have learned is the minute I question if I should take him, it probably means I should bc I will continue to question myself if I don't, especially if we are going away. Last winter with a newborn and a toddler who was catching everything that went around I felt like we lived at the ped, I asked once if anyone else was there as much as me and they said yes!Chat Icon Chat Icon
