shower returns w/o receipt

OK, I definitely know that I have read threads about this topic before, but I couldn't find what I wanted to know after searching, so I'm going the ask the question again.

The good news is that my shower was yesterday and it was great!!

More good news is that I only need to return one gift that doesn't have a receipt. I don't know where it was purchased and didn't want to ask my friend for the recipt unless I had to. Do any of the big chain stores take items these days without a receipt, or should I just ask my friend for it.

I would try and return it at Buy Buy Baby. Babies R Us has changed their return policy and will not take returns without a receipt. If you cannot return it to BBB then I would ask your friend for a receipt. HTH! Congrats on having a great shower!

Tell your friend that it was a duplicate. Someone from out of town couldn't attend your shower and sent the same gift in the mail. And since your friend is local it's easier to just ask her for the receipt. That's where I would start.
