I know Gymboree runs them sometimes. I use the signing time DVDs with my DS.

Re: Sign Language class....

There is one at Adelphi University -

Hey Parents "It's Time to Sign"
8 Monday sessions, starting October 20, 2008

It's Time to Sign is a course for parents together with their babies. Using American Sign Language, the curriculum is designed to teach words and concepts that are familiar and already part of your communication with your child. Using sign language as a part of everyday activities can help lessen frustration for your child by enabling them to communicate better with you. Being able to communicate more effectively can help to enhance your child’s social-emotional and cognitive development.

Location: Institute for Parenting Playroom, Garden City Campus

Times: Meets Mondays from 2:00 p.m.–3:15 p.m., starting October 20.

Fee: $130

To Register: For more information or to register for the program, call The Institute for Parenting at 516.877.3060 or email [email protected].

Re: Sign Language class....

That sounds great!! I've been looking for a sign class that wasn't too expensive! Do they recommend a specific age? My baby is 3 months.

Re: Sign Language class....

I started DS at 3 months but from what I read it's usually started around 7-8 months.

Re: Sign Language class....

That class sounds great but I can't make it on Mondays and it is very far for me. If anyone has other suggestions, let me know. For now, I will make an effort to use my signing DVD and signing books more.
