Silly friend vent
I have this friend who is CONSTANTLY complaining about money....
she is in debt by thousands of dollars....
will call me freaking out that she can't do things, that she can't afford things.....
THEN GOES AND BUYS EXPENSIVE ITEMS
DRIVES ME NUTS

I think we have the same friend!!!!!
This drives me NUTS beyond belief!!!! She can't pay her cell phone bill and has her boyfriend paying her rent. Never has money for anything
BUT she just left on a cruise where she spent an insane amount of money for ( the girl does NOT need a vacation yet takes AT LEAST one a year - usually 2 or 3!)
Takes off of work for the most pathetic reasons and THROWS money away on crap
WHY DONT YOU PAY YOUR BILLS INSTEAD!!!
Sorry for the vent!

That drives me nuts too, but some people are set on Instant Gratification and cannot see the BIG PICTURE. It's a shame as they will probably never crawl out of debt and will always be looking for some materialistic thing in order to feel like they have one up'd themselves.

I had a coworker like that - in the beginning we felt bad for her because she was a single mom and told us she was struggling with all her expenses - so she asked a couple coworkers to lend her $50.00 each - we did and I was one of them.
During the next couple months - we saw the AVON purchases she made, clothes she bought and even new car - she never spoke of the money she owed us, which got me so mad!!
I wish I would of never lent her the money - within the next few weeks - she was fired from the company - and never repaid us.
In the future, i've learned to just ignore those types of situations unless its someone i know genuinely needs the money.

That is SO true!!!! I have tried talking to her about it and she LITERALLY can not comprehend what I am saying. She is like baffled by what I was telling her and couldn't grasp her mind around the concept.
But at the same time HER logic was baffling me and I couldn't understand what SHE was saying... All I kept thinking was " Is she nuts.. Does she hear what is coming out of her mouth its ridiculous!!!!"
and she was probably thinking the same thing!!

This is my MIL. It drives me crazy! She's always complaining that she has no money, yet her closets are bursting at the seams with clothes and last weekend she had her hair highlighted and her lipliner and eyebrows tattooed.

I think some people cannot really see their way out of debt ... well I've got $5,000 , $10,000, $30,000 worth of debt, that $300 bag won't make a difference ... but it will!
My friend ignored her $12,000 credit card bill for a year! Yep, just threw the statement out each month because she couldn't even afford the minimums. Finally when she got serious with her now DH, he made her go into debt consolidation. The bill was $25,000 a year later becasue of the late fees / interest rates! She's still paying it off 3 years later! Yet she was always buying clothes, shoes, bags, etc.
She just didn't get it!

Mine never flat out asks to borrow $$$ but is always looking for a free ride...
someone to pick up the bill at dinner, drive so she saves on gas, uses your cell instead of hers so she dosen't go over minutes, etc.

I have a friend that does the same exact thing. Cries poverty and then goes spends thousands on expensive things. I think she is living in denial. But I know she does that to make herself happy.
I see posts were people say they are broke and can't pay for things and then they are asking for opinions on expensive handbags...doesn't make sense

OMG yes there are people who post often crying poverty and saying how they have to scrape together money for this, worry how they will pay for that, ask to borrow things from me, and then I see pics of them with a brand new $400 coach bag
