Silly Little MIL vent

So, MIL orders a gift for DS that I picked out for him (she doesn't know what he likes) so fine, that's nice. Although it is difficult to find something mid-priced, but I do.

So, it arrives today and I open the box to put it under the tree and it isn't wrapped! Just a toy in a brown box!

I just dragged out the paper and wrapped it and put it under the tree.

She couldn't have just clicked the "wrap me" button?

I am pretty sure I'll get flamed for this one, b/c well, I'd flame me for this

if thats your worst MIL vent you are doing VERY well. I wish she could hit the "wrap me" button but then again...there is no present

I got stuff for DD that wasn't wrapped too. I didn't even think about it. I've sent stuff without clicking "wrap" -- and I've sent stuff without even including the note!!

So, I wouldn't think too much about it..

BTW - Ale got a Learn & Groove table in a brown box --- a week ago from my SIL and BIL....ummm, she got 2 of them LAST year!!

I think it's funny that you not only had to pick out the present but you had to wrap it too I totally see your point. Eh, what are you going to do? Was there are least a little note?

I guess it's better than her getting him a bag of glass and remembering to wrap it (anyone remember bag o glass from SNL?)

Every year for holidays and birthdays my MIL tells DH how much she wants to spend and that we have to figure out an actual gift, we can't just deposit the money in their accounts, and then washes her hands of it. So I have to think of something, shop for it, and wrap it because DH is useless that way.

Sometimes it annoys me, but then I think about what the kids got when she shopped herself and realize this is a better solution. When Andy was born at the end of June, she gave him a 0-3 month heavy winter outfit that had no store tags only a ripped brand one.

My MIL gives me the money...I buy the clothes and toys...wrap them and then give them to her to give to Lucas.

BUT....I really don't mind it at alll. Actually, I prefer it because she's very generous and her intentions are good.

So not the same as your MIL but I thought you'd get a laugh out of the process!
