Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
So I know the BH contractions, but when you were in actual labor, where did you feel your contractions? Were they low, high, from the back....etc
I am getting some weird pains this morning, and I am not sure (((TMI ALERT))))) if it is from DH & I BDing last night, or if I need to call the Dr to see if I should come in before my 12noon appointment. They are not rhythmic yet, but man they are kicking my arse!

Re: Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
With your history, if they start to get rythmic or you still feel "weird" in 1 hour, go to the ER. You might not able to wait until noon to see Dr. H.
Let me know if you want me to drive you to the hospital or watch baby G.

Let me know if you want me to drive you to the hospital or watch baby G. You are too good to me. G is in school until 4, so we are covered there.
I think I am going to call the girls in the office if it does not stop by 9:30. They are pretty tough right now, but very localised.
Thanks!

Re: Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
with #1 mine were localized in my lower back....i totally thought they were gas pains...I started timing them, and they were 1 1/2-3 min apart..i caled the dr (they weren't painful) and I went to the hospital....I was 3 cm, and a good percentage effaced...
Being that this is your second, I would def call....with my second my contractions were never bad at all....and they were short, like 3o sec each....this lasted til I was 6-7 cm...I only got the epi because I was scared they would get bad...
the nurse said for my next, if I have mild cramping I need to come right to the hospital, because if my water didnt break with my 2nd, I wouldn't have went with the mild contractions, even though I was in full blown labor
Good luck!!!!!

Re: Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
For me, they were low. The best way to describe them were severe period cramps combined with poop pain and food poisoning pain..................that gradually increased X 100.

Re: Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
with my DS it wasnt the pain that caught my attention, it was the consistancy- they started every 20 minutes and went down from there- started out like regular cramps dont remember if it went all the way around but definitly felt it in the lowe abdominal area.

honestly, i don't remember where i felt my contractions most. there was so much pain, i guess i kinda just felt them everywhere.
honestly, if ANY pain is kicking your arse i would go and be seen right away. it wouldn't be that bad if it were BH.
also, don't wait for the pains to be rhythmic... had i waited for that i would have given birth on my kitchen floor (i.e., my contractions never got regular!).
since it's your second i wouldn't waste any time. get going!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Re: Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
Mine started out as what felt like bad period cramps and then had what felt like a "belt of pain" around my abdomen and lower back. Hope all goes well

Re: Silly question about contractions for BTDTs
I went to the Dr & descibed to her what I was feeling. She said A) good for me for still BD and B) it sounds like the stretching that can be associated with dilation. Since dilation can happen quickly or slowly, she told me to really take care of what I feel & come back or call if the same kind of pain returns.
Since I also did not feel my contractions with PG #1 I am freaked out like a newbie She told me that I am very thin and soft & dilating, so she wants me to be very aware of what I am feeling. Luckily I am pretty in tune with my body & notice weird stuff that others might not, so she felt OK to send me back to work today.
Thanks all for the responses!
