Silly question but...

Can you shred cheese (like cheddar cheese) in a food processor? Call me old school, but I always use the old fashioned steel grater for stuff like this. I use my food processor for plenty of things but I just feel like the cheese would not work.

Silly question but...

I chop blocks of provolone in the food processor. It doesn't come out shredded but it comes out finely chopped.

Yes, most have a grating attachment.

Freeze the cheese for about 30 minutes. Makes the grating easier.

I usually use my box grater (handheld) for a small amount, but if I am doing a large amount, I break out the food processor.

You can use the regular (s-shaped) blade if you want to make grated parmesan.

If you want to shred cheese, I always use the shredder disc (that came with my Cuisinart food processor). You put it in so that the blade is on top and then when you feed the cheese in and push it down, it shreds it in a few seconds. So easy!
