Silly Question, how do I prop one end of DS's crib mattress?

He's been congested the last 2 days and I want to prop him while he sleeps at night so he breaths better. I've heard/read of using a towel or blanket under the mattress, but how do I do this?

Sorry, clueless!

TIA!!

You can put it under the mattress but you would need a lot of them to make a difference.

I wouldn't put it under the sheet because it makes a soft, mushy surface & that's the last thing you would want an infant laying on.

They make a wedge to put under the mattress. One ped told me 25 degree angle.

Maybe you could find it at BRU?

We had reflux issues and had the mattress inclined for a while. You just set the mattress pins higher at the head and lower at the foot of the crib.

They sell this crib wedge at BBB

Pediatricians often recommend that parents elevate the head of baby's crib to help baby breathe easier and sleep more comfortably after eating. Safe Lift™ crib wedge from DEX Products can greatly improve baby's overall sleeping by raising baby's head to a more comfortable position, both for easier breathing and better digestion. Just as a pillow works for an adult, Safe Lift crib wedge helps reduce the nasal congestion that results when a baby lies absolutely flat. This is especially important when your child has a cold. Safe Lift crib wedge is the simple and ingenious solution to the problem. Simply position Safe Lift under the sheet at the head of the crib to gently elevate baby's head and upper body. The non-skid bottom will keep Safe Lift securely in place. Best of all, your baby will breathe easier and feel better, and both you and your baby will get a better night's sleep.
