Similac Sensitive RS.. anybody's child on this?
I was asking because my DS pediatrician wanted him on the RS for his spit up and reflux.. i then told him that it was hard to find and they only come in the small containers , so they said i should call my insurance company to see if it could be covered.. to tell them that we can't find it in stores.. they need to be on it..etc.
well they called me back saying it was approved!!
so i just wanted to see if there were other mommies that were using this formula , to maybe talk to the pediatricican and the insurance! you never know!

i say it wouldn't hurt to try! i never thought the RS would be , but the doc said it was medically necessary. so maybe thats why.
its hard to find the soy one too i believe right? i don't remember seeing that one too often

Just called and they said NO. It's "considered a regualr formula". Which I dont really get bc if a baby is on soy it means they cant handle the regular stuff

we just switched to RS, what insurance do you have that covers it? I saw on the Similac website that the name and packaging is changing to "Similac Sensitive for Spit Up" with a green label instead of red.

DD was on it for a few months. BBB and BRU has it. I believe even Target carries it. It's comparable to the Enfamil AR which is what DD is on now. Hope it helps w/ the spitting up

Re: Similac Sensitive RS.. anybody's child on this?
Enfamil AR and Sim. RS are very different. Sim R.S is a lactose free product where as AR contains lactose.
As far as reimbursement from insurance companies, I find that you are able to get reimbursement more likely for hypoallergenic products (like nutramigen), that do work for spit up. I have switched a few babies onto this and was able to get formula covered. Just a thought.
Also, I know that Enfamil does send you some free cans of specility products to your house as a gift (I have the forms if anyone is interested) and Similac does for their twin program - if anyone has twins I can take care of it for you as well.
HTH!
