I love this topic because it's so positive!

I'm excited because I have a new job this year at a new school! My students seem like a great bunch and I'm looking forward to working with them!

1. I LOVE my fall classroom decor of leaves, pumpkins etc (cheesy, I KnowChat Icon ). I love fall weather in general.

2. Meeting my new students. 7th graders are still young and a little nervous when they come in so it's nice to make them feel welcomed and see them grow as the year progresses.

3. Learning from past experiences to improve on my lesson plans & activities.

Good luck on your tenure year to the OPChat Icon

1) I love getting new students each year, and I'm so excited about this particular group.

2) I love seeing my students from past years.

3) I love the beginning of the year when my classroom and office are set up and organized the way I want them.

1. I was actually back already in classes today, but I love seeing former students on the first day. We're always so happy to see each other... at least the first day. Chat Icon

2. I love the feeling of camaraderie in the building when all the teachers see each other for the first time, too. It's so nice to see those friends you don't necessarily keep in touch with outside the building. Chat Icon

3. It's too early for anyone to have a crisis... well, for the most part. Only one heartbroken kid today... Chat Icon (But I'm glad I know... and I'm glad to be able to talk to them about these things again. I do miss them over the summer...)

Re: Since it's a new year....post one, two, or three things...

I started today, but here's what I was excited for:

1) I have the same students year to year, so I was excited to see how they changed over the summer and what they did

2)I was excited to see the incoming 6th graders. They're so little and cute, running around trying to find their classes

3) Having a legitamate classroom, complete with windows!!!!!!

1. I headed a committee for a new summer reading program and I'm really excited for the culmination/festivities next week to celebrate it

2. tons new books Chat Icon and ordering more

3. I was trained at conference last year for the Library of Congress' American Memories database last year and I have 3 teachers on board to work cooperatively with it. We are all feeding off the other's excitement.

1. Getting to know the new students - every year, I feel like it's making new "friends." They're not my friends, of course, but it's that same excitement of: will they like me? will I like them? what do we have in common? will they laugh at my jokes?

2. Only two preps this year, both of which I taught last year! I spent so many hours last year (when I had 4 preps) writing lessons, making Promethean Board slides, making handouts, etc. and they're all organized and re-usable for this year. YES!!!!

1) If I may brag- my classroom looks AWESOME and I am so happy with it!

2) I am getting back my old kids, who I really liked.

3) I put in a lot of extra time at the end of last year so I am in good shape, planning wise. Got my copies ready and everything!

Oh, and I bought some really cute new clothes this year. Gap Give and Get was excellent. Chat Icon Chat Icon

1. I'll have kids who can write in September! (I love writing and last year I had Kindergarten)

2. I don't have to teach Math! (Doing Literacy for 2nd & 3rd grades)

3. I'm looking forward to this group of kids, they all know me but they haven't been in my class so I'm hoping to have lots of fun with them!

3. Last year I was only there a half year due to maternity, so this year I feel like I can finally start my program off and make it complete.

1. Not having a homeroom so I can actually have time to plan the two thousand and one extra things my AP and principal throw at me.
2. Fun trips I want to go on this year with my classes.
3. My maternity leave in March!Chat Icon

A) teaching freshmen
B) seeing the seniors graduate (I taught them for two years in a row, so I feel attached to them)
