Sippy cup question
When did you introduce the sippy cup? Would you put formula / breastmilk in there or just water / juice?
Thanks

Re: Sippy cup question
About 7 months. I only put water in it or I would put juice except I don't give DD juice.
ETA...I only put milk in the sippy once I wanted to totally wean her off the bottle, which was at 15 mos.

Re: Sippy cup question
I introduced the sippy cup at 1 year old and i put milk, juice or water in it. They call it baba so i think they think it's their bottle. If i had to do it again i would of introduced it earlier. I only give them one bottle a day at night and thats really to make sure they get enough of the milk for the day. With the sippy cup they drink and then put it down and then Reese will pick up syd and vice versa so i never really know if they are getting enough milk. Maybe start introducing in the afternoon with a little water.

Re: Sippy cup question
we introdued the straw cups to her at 6 mths - she drinks very well out of them - but she will only take her juice and wate rin them...If I could do it over I would have put her formula in it too because now she wont drink her milk from the cup! She is 14 mths and Id like to wean her from the bottle completely within the next couple of mths.

Re: Sippy cup question

ETA: She will take anything in the sippy (milk, water, juice, etc.)

Re: Sippy cup question
I started at 6 months with water. It took DD a few months to catch on. I just started putting milk in it at 12 months now that she totally has the hang of it. She still prefers the bottle for milk though. I don't give DD juice.

Re: Sippy cup question
I started water at 6 months. I won't be giving her juice. I'm not ready to wean her from the bottle yet, but when I am I will put formula in it.

Re: Sippy cup question
At 6 months I started putting water and a tad bit of juice. He won't drink the formula out of the sippy for some reason. Now I put water. My mom gives him juice, so I limit the juice.

Re: Sippy cup question
I've been bad with the sippy cup. I give him water in it occasionally.

Re: Sippy cup question
We started now at 1 year and but he only takes juice in it. He knows how to hold it but he does not know how to raise it to get anything out of it so he holds it and I raise it for him to drink out of it.

Re: Sippy cup question
Around 6 months I started with water at every meal... I EBF and she never took a bottle so it was easy for her to get used to the cup quickly...
